What to refer
Primary hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement, revision hip and knee reconstruction, outpatient and same-day joint replacement, and selected knee arthroscopy for non-arthritic problems. Candidacy for the outpatient pathway is assessed at the consultation. Imaging, relevant notes, and prior operative reports sent with the referral make triage faster; same-day and next-day consultations are usually available.
Consultations are available in Noblesville, Greenwood, and Fort Wayne. Most primary replacements are performed at the Indiana Orthopedic Institute surgery center in Noblesville; hospital settings are used when a patient’s health or the operation calls for one.
